Espagnac, Jean-Baptiste-Joseph d’Amarzit de Sahuguet, baron d’ (1713-1783)

Governor of the Hôtel royal des Invalides.

Served with distinction in the French army; rose to the rank of maréchal de camp (1761). Chevalier (1743) and commander (1769) de Saint-Louis. Lieutenant du roi at Hôtel royale des Invalides; established a school for veterans’ children. Author of several military memoirs and books on the art of warfare.

Son of Jacques-Joseph and Marie (Couderc) d’Amarzit de Sahuguet. Married Suzanne- Élisabeth, baronne de Beyer; four sons.
