Hill, Henry (1732-1798)

After studying in Scotland and joining his father’s wine business in Madeira, Hill returned to Philadelphia (1763) and became a wine importer.

Served in the militia and was a benefactor of the Continental army during the American Revolution.

Member of the Pennsylvania Assembly (1780-84) and of the Pennsylvania Supreme Executive Council (1785-88).

Born in Maryland. Married Ann Meredith (1770).
