Hollingsworth, Levi (1739-1824)

Philadelphia merchant.

Member of the American Philosophical Society (1768); served on committees on husbandry and commerce. Quartermaster of the Philadelphia company of Light Horse in Revolutionary War; often acted as a courier of money and supplies. Patron of James Rumsey. Federalist.

Son of Zebulon and Ann (Maulden) Hollingsworth of Elkton, Maryland. Married Hannah Paschall (1768); eight children. Anglican with strong ties to Quaker community.
