Bouffé, Pierre-Gabriel

Paris banker.

Presumably the father in the firm of Bouffé père & fils. They were probably the successors of Gabriel-Julien Bouffé père et fils, a firm that for many years had been prominent in the tobacco and East India trade.

The family lived in Passy, belonged to the Brillon-Le Veillard circle, and entertained John Adams soon after his arrival.
