Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge (1767). Fellow of the Royal Society (1782). M.P. for Helston (1786-90) and Bodmin (1790-96). One of the managers of Warren Hastings’s impeachment. Exhibited fruit and wrote papers for the Horticultural Society, compiled a glossary of Cheshire dialect, and collected rare Italian and Spanish books. Prominent patron of literature and science.

Son of Roger and Mary (Hunt) Wilbraham of Nantwich, Cheshire. Educated at Trinity College, Cambridge (B.A., 1765). Never married.
