Mostowski, “Prince” Paul Michael (1721-1781)

Self-styled Polish prince.

Palatine of Pomerania and then of Mazovia. Leader of the Confederation of Bar.

Involved in an intrigue against King Stanislaus Augustus, which by 1774, had driven him into exile. Settled at La Villette, near Paris and began to refer to himself as “Prince.”
