Scholar. Lifelong friend of William Temple Franklin.

Author of numerous works of philosophy, literature, and lexicography. A member of almost every academy in Europe.

Sent Franklin the discours préliminaire of his projected Bibliographie encyclopédique, which he apparently abandoned.

Published Lettres Philosophiques à Madame *** sur divers sujets de morale et de littérature, a book of reminiscences in which he quoted Franklin on various topics (Paris, 1825).

An illegitimate son of the Prince de Conti.
