Resident of Passy. Said to have considerable influence at court. Franklin and John Adams attended a party at her home given in honor of America (May, 1778).

Daughter of Antoine-Joseph-Marie-Macon Chapelle, comte de Jumiilhac-Cubjac, governor of the Bastille, and of Anne-Constance Bertin, sister of Henri-Léonard-Jean-Baptiste Bertin, French minister of state and former comptroller general of finances.
