Merchant, tanner, and public official of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

Justice of the peace (1764). Owned a tan- yard (1768-82). Member of Cumberland County committee of correspondence (1774). Collected saltpetre (1776). Judge for the election of Cumberland County representatives to the Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention (1776). County treasurer (1795). Elder of Presbyterian Church.

Resided near Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Married; had issue.
