Dilly, Charles (1739-1807)

London bookseller.

As a young man Dilly became a partner in the bookselling firm of his brother, Edward Dilly.

He was well known for hosting dinners that attracted prominent guests, including Joseph Priestley and James Boswell, whose Life of Johnson Dilly published in 1791.
