Physician.

A friend of Mary (Stevenson) Hewson, who recommended him to Franklin. Visited Franklin in Passy and expressed his hopes of serving in the American army (1782).

Franklin provided him with a letter to Washington requesting permission to pass his lines. Traveled to the United States and settled in Annapolis.

Sought Franklin’s help in proving his attachment to the American cause after his property in St. Mary’s County was seized in accordance with Maryland’s confiscation laws (1785).
