Malcom, James Peller (1767-1815)

Philadelphia engraver.

Traveled to England to study art (c. 1788); studied with Wright of Derby and Benjamin West. Returned to Philadelphia briefly (c. 1793), then settled in England. Engraved landscapes for British magazines; his works included depictions of several public buildings in Philadelphia. Also published books on English history and travel. Fellow of the Antiquarian Society.
